NARRATIVE/JUSTIFICATION FOR JUDGMENT OF COMPLIANCE

The Legislature is the appropriate agency in the State of Tennessee that grants formal authority to award degrees. East Tennessee State University's authority to award degrees is granted by the state legislature (Tennessee Code Annotated Title 49, Chapter 8, Provision 101) through the Tennessee Board of Regents.
