Candidacy Committee Resources - Committee Information and Forms
The Candidacy Committee, composed of five or six individuals, conducts the first on-site review of prospective member institutions. This committee examines an institution’s compliance with Core Requirements 1-11, the three Comprehensive Standards that address institutional effectiveness and faculty qualifications, and all of the Federal Requirements. The Candidacy Committee verifies on site the documentation presented in the Application for Membership and writes a report that is submitted to the Committee on Compliance and Reports. A unique feature of the Report of the Candidacy Committee is the absence of recommendations. In order for an applicant institution to be awarded Candidate status, it must document compliance with all of the standards reviewed by the Candidacy Committee.
