CALL FOR THIRD-PARTY COMMENTS
FOR INSTITUTIONS SCHEDULED FOR REVIEW IN 2008

In December 2006, the Commission on Colleges adopted a policy called “Third-Party Comment by the Public.” (See policy listed below.) The new policy replaces provisions formerly incorporated in the Commission’s Disclosure Policy and outlines procedures for public use in the submission of third-party comments by any interested party during the formal scheduled review of the following institutions:

  • Institutions seeking initial candidacy with the Commission
  • Institutions seeking initial accreditation with the Commission
  • Institutions seeking reaffirmation of accreditation (continued accreditation) with the Commission

Because the policy requires appropriate notification and ample opportunity for the institution to respond to third-party comments, the Commission has developed a phase-in period of the newly-adopted policy that begins with institutions being reviewed by the Commission in 2008.

For institutions seeking initial candidacy with the Commission in 2008

The names of institutions authorized candidacy committees in anticipation of initial candidacy in 2008 will not be available until after the June 2007 meeting of the Commission on Colleges.  Those names and dates of review will be posted on the Web page by August 1.

Please refer to the links below to access the Track A and Track B institutions scheduled for reaffirmation of accreditation in 2008. Comments should be forwarded to the President of the Commission.
